Elegant Rumba Dance Studio

Now trading as Montoya Dance Company, this Latin dance school at 1901 Brantley Rd, Suite 7 in Fort Myers, Florida is led by Giana Montoya, a salsa dancer and teacher with more than 25 years of experience. It bills itself as Southwest Florida's premier Latin dance school and teaches salsa, bachata, Latin body movement and technique, and burlesque, with instruction in English and Spanish. Weekly classes include beginner and intermediate salsa on Monday nights and an all-levels bachata class on Thursdays, each followed by a practice social. Two signature youth programs, Salsa Kidz for ages 5-12 and Salsa Teens for ages 13-17, aim to develop the next generation of salsa dancers and foster interest in Latin culture. Adult performance teams run in two four-month seasons culminating in a Summer Showcase and a Winter Extravaganza. Private lessons and bespoke choreography are available for weddings, quinceaneras and bachelorette parties, and the studio hosts regular salsa socials and partners with the Elegant Studios Event Center and The Shiva Yoga Shala.
