About this studio
Dancing in the Streets Arizona (DITSAZ) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit ballet school and company based at 88 W. 38th Street in Tucson, Arizona. It uses the discipline and excitement of ballet to help children build life skills, working chiefly with young people from South Tucson and the wider Tucson area, and describes itself as a minority-owned school committed to diversity and inclusion. Donations and sponsorships fund scholarships, ballet shoes, costumes and transport for students who could not otherwise afford training, and the school states that it welcomes students of all ages and abilities. The company mounts an annual production of The Nutcracker with guest artists from Ballet Arizona and live music. Studio classes run Tuesday to Thursday evenings and Saturday mornings.
