About this studio
Dancing for Joy is a Whatcom County dance studio with campuses in Bellingham and Lynden, Washington. It describes itself as going against the grain of the mainstream dance world by promoting modesty, self-worth and inclusivity in a non-competitive yet professional atmosphere,; it welcomes all ages and abilities. The youngest begin in Tiny Twirlers at ages 2 and 3, followed by Creative Movement and combination pre-classes for ages 4 to 6. From age 7 dancers enter levelled classes in ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop, contemporary and musical theatre, adding pointe, PBT, conditioning and yoga as they progress. Adult classes run year-round, and the studio houses the Jubilee Dance Company and the adult contemporary Canvas Dance Company. Summer camps and intensives are offered, plus a June show.
