About this studio
The Bellingham Scottish Country Dancers are a non-profit club formed in 1983 whose mission is to preserve the history of Scottish Country Dancing through practice, performance and camaraderie. The group describes a diverse membership of all ages, backgrounds and abilities, and runs lively, inclusive, low-impact weekly sessions set to traditional Scottish tunes, built around easy-to-learn group dance patterns. Sessions run most Wednesdays at 7 PM at the Fairhaven Library; no kilt is required and soft-soled shoes are recommended, with spectators welcome but dancers required to register. Registration is handled through Bellingham Parks and Recreation and membership costs $20 per season. The club gained 501(c)3 status in 2010 and holds seasonal social events.
