About this studio
BallroomU is a social and competitive ballroom dance studio at 239 Grande Heights Drive in Cary, North Carolina, established in April 2016 by owner Austin Moon. The studio occupies a modern open-plan space with a floating floor designed for social dancing, and teaches singles and couples with no partner or experience required; it describes itself as LGBTQ-welcoming and takes children from age 10 upward. Instruction combines 40-minute private lessons, five weekly group classes graded from Newcomer through Associate Bronze, Full Bronze, Silver and Technique, and two weekly practice parties including a Friday night dance that cycles through more than 20 styles. More than twenty dances are taught, spanning smooth, rhythm, Latin and swing. BallroomU also specializes in wedding first-dance lessons and hosts the Campus Royale ballroom event.
