About this studio
Backstage Dance Studio has served the Conroe and Montgomery, Texas area since 1980, offering classes for ages 2 and up through a levelled syllabus. The youngest dancers start in Twinkle Twos, a ballet-based creative movement class with parent participation, followed by preschool ballet/tap combos for ages 3-4 and levelled combination classes for ages 5-8. Older and placed students take ballet, ballet technique and ballet variations, pointe and pointe technique, jazz, tap, hip hop, lyrical/contemporary, musical theatre, acro and tumbling, improv, leaps and turns, and strength and stretching, plus a drill team technique class aimed at junior high and high school team tryouts and an adult tap class for ages 18 and up. Most classes perform in the spring recital, and the studio also stages The Nutcracker and runs a performing company.
