Tennessee Williams’ award-winning play, THE GLASS MENAGERIE, gets an innovative revival at Art Factory. Perhaps one of the most well-known plays of all time, THE GLASS MENAGERIE has stolen the hearts of millions, worldwide. The story revolves around Amanda Wingfield, a tough-as-nails single mother in 1930’s St. Louis, and her young adult children, Tom and Laura. The latter is a mentally fragile and physically frail women who, much to her mother’s dismay, is unmarried and unconcerned about that fact. When Tom sets up an evening with a “gentleman caller,” a work friend of his and former classmate of Laura’s, Amanda overbearingly prepares her family for what she believes will be a turning point for them all. This deeply moving and masterfully written work of theatre is sure to fill Houston audiences with a nostalgic bliss that only Tennessee Williams can deliver.

About the Theatre
Art Factory Houston, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization.
Founded in the Autumn of 2016 by Executive Director Luke J. Hamilton and Artistic Director Colton Berry,
Art Factory began in the East Downtown (EaDo) District of Houston, Texas, as EaDo Playhouse.
In January of 2018, Art Factory moved to our new home at The Docks, just north of Downtown Houston
By 2022, Art Factory produced nearly fifty lauded productions, including Houston premieres like "Disenchanted!" and "GATSBY," theatrical live-music events like "It's Britney, B*tch" and "MONSTER: The Music of Lady Gaga," digital productions like "[title of show]" and "Pippin," and re-imagined classics like "Grease" and "The Wizard of Oz," making it Houston's highest producer of musical theatre.

Art Factory exists to broaden the experience of the Houston arts community by offering multifaceted programming, developing new and original works and exploring uncharted artistic perspectives of established plays and musicals.
Art Factory presents works of theatre in a purposefully intimate setting, reducing the divide between spectator and art in order to foster a connected and empathetic community in Houston.
