Trinity River Arts Center & KD Conservatory College Of Film & Dramatic Arts Present A Fund-Raising Run Of PIPPIN

The Trinity River Arts Center and KD Conservatory (http://www.kdstudio.com), celebrating its 40th year as the only degree-granting and accredited performing arts and film conservatory outside of New York and Los Angeles, are bringing the Broadway musical Pippin to the stage this November for a two week, fund raising event . Winner of four Tony Awards, Pippin combines humor, catchy music, and magic-- all ingredients for a great show!

We've got magic to do! KD Conservatory's Musical Theatre Director and Drama Desk Award and Critics Circle Award winner Mr. Michael Serrecchia is excited to welcome Dallas' premier cabaret artist, Denise Lee, to TRAC and KD, as she stars in his upcoming, fundraising production of Pippin at the Conservatory's Kim Dawson Theatre.

"Denise raises the bar and inspires our student performers. Having her as a guest artist is the first time KD has invited a professional artist to perform in a KD show and a boom for our conservatory and for the mission of the Trinity River Arts Center. We appreciate her commitment to the education process as she joins us in mentoring the next generation and helping TRAC's mission of introducing the arts to youth at risk," notes Pippin director Michael Serrecchia.

Denise Lee is a 30 year veteran of stage and screen in DFW, with an international following for her cabaret shows. When asked about her upcoming performance at KD, Denise said, "I have spoken to the student body several times at KD and have worked with many members of KD's faculty, including Paula Morelan, T.A. Taylor, Michael Serrecchia and Mark Mullino. These people have been mentors and teachers to me as well. So to come back and work side by side with them as they teach our next generation of performers is an absolute blessing. I am a firm believer in the way KD's instructors approach teaching. To work as a professional performer, you have to take on the entertainment industry with perseverance and passion, and KD's teachers instill those qualities in their students."

The musical is about young prince Pippin who is heir to the throne. During his search for happiness, he discovers that it is not the spoils of war, seduction, or politics that helps one find happiness, but, rather, it is through the un-extraordinary moments of everyday life that leads one to contentment.

"I'm so impressed with the talent that KD has attracted from all over the country. In terms of faculty, students, and now Denise as a guest artist, Michael has outdone himself with his cast and crew!" said KD Conservatory co-founder Kathy Tyner. "This production will be a crowd pleaser for all ages."
