Texas Ballet Theater Presents SWAN LAKE

By:

Texas Ballet Theater Presents SWAN LAKE ImageTexas Ballet Theater (TBT) will present the classic Swan Lake May 25-27 at Bass Performance Hall in Fort Worth, Texas and June 1-3 at the Winspear Opera House on the AT&T Performing Arts Center Campus in Dallas, Texas.

All performances boast live accompaniment partnering with The Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra in Fort Worth, and the Dallas Opera Orchestra in Dallas. Texas Ballet Theater is also hosting a Swan Lake dinner in Hamon Hall at the Winspear Opera House prior to the Saturday, June 2 performance. Dinner tickets and tables can be purchased by visiting http://bit.ly/SwanDinner.

Swan Lake tells the story of Princess Odette who is transformed into a swan by an evil sorcerer, with a spell that can only be broken by a vow of eternal love. She meets Prince Siegfried, and they fall in love, threatening the sorcerer's plan. To upend their romance, the sorcerer disguises his daughter, Odile, as Odette, the guise otherwise known as the infamous 'BLACK SWAN.' The principal female dancer in Swan Lake will dance both the innocent Odette and scheming Odile, facing arguably one of the most challenging roles in classical ballet. Swan Lake uses intricate costumes, ethereal sets and special effects, and is known for its enormous corps de ballet of female dancers as the swans.

The full-length ballet has two acts and lasts approximately 1 hour and 40 minutes, including a 20-minute intermission. A "Wiggle Room" is available for restless children to play while still watching the performance via a screen or window.

Tickets range from $20-$125 and are available at www.texasballettheater.org or 877.828.9200.

Performances are at Bass Performance Hall in Fort Worth (May 25-27) and at the Winspear Opera House in Dallas (June 1-3).
