Rover Presents Fourth Annual 365 Women A Year Festival

Cast & Creatives Revealed For the World Premiere of
GOIN' HOLLYWOODFor the fourth straight year, Rover Dramawerks is pleased to partner with the playwrights' group 365 Women a Year to present a festival of new plays by women, about women, for everyone. This international playwriting coalition, founded by Jesslynn Eisenberg Chamblee, involves playwrights across the world who have signed on to write one or more plays about extraordinary women in both past and present history. The project's ambitious yet focused goal is to write women back into the social consciousness, as well as empower and promote female playwrights, and plant seeds of herstory around the country.

Fourteen plays by playwrights from six states will take place Thursdays and Fridays at 8:00 pm, and Saturdays at 3:00 and 8:00 pm March 22-31, at Rover Dramawerks, located in Ruisseau Village at 221 W. Parker Rd, Suite 580, at the northwest corner of Parker and 75. The final performances on March 31 take place on the eleventh annual WomenArts' SWAN Day (Support Women Artists Now Day), an international holiday designed to showcase the power and diversity of women's creativity.

Plays range from long monologues to larger casts and cover the last 500 years to present day and everywhere in between. Local returning playwrights include J. Sanders Nelson and Carol M. Rice. Allie Costa of Los Angeles, Jennifer O'Grady of Pelham, NY, and Susan Shafer of New York City are national returning playwrights.

365 Women a Year involves playwrights from around the world. They are not a business or even a non-profit. They simply want to get more plays written about women. 2018 marks the fifth year for the playwriting coalition and no repeats are allowed, so by the end of this year, there will be over 1,800 new plays about unique women in history! The festivals featuring these plays take place all over the world; Rover Dramawerks presents the only one south of the Mason-Dixon line.

Tickets for the 365 Women a Year Festival are $15.00 for adults and $12.00 for students/seniors and members of the League of Professional Theatre Women and may be ordered online at www.roverdramawerks.com.
