Rover Dramawerks to Present 18 HOLES, 4/23-5/16

By:

Rover Dramawerks is pleased to continue their 15th Anniversary Season with the award-winning comedy-drama 18 Holes, by Gene Kato. Performances will be at Rover's new theatre in Plano, located in Ruisseau Village at 221 W. Parker Rd, Suite 580, at the northwest corner of Parker and 75. Performances are April 23 - May 16, 2015, with shows on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays at 8:00 p.m., plus an additional matinee performance on Saturday, May 2 at 2:00 p.m.

Four sets of golfers make their way around the eighteen greens of the Brazoria Bend golf course in Southeast Texas: A father (played by Mike Partyka) who must tell his young son (Parker Niksich) that his wife is leaving him, with the help of his best friend (Jared Semen); a golden years couple (played by Ronnie Giddens and Nancy Lamb) constantly bickering over the winning power of a pink golf ball; two slackers (Fernando Hernandez and Clint Prentice) in hot pursuit of the beer girl (Annika Horne); and a collection of ladies (Mary Campbell, Vandi Clark, Christine Engel, and Jessica Roth) from the Sunset Society, an organization of women who wear orange hats, with the aid of a caddy (Jeremiah Johnson). Guided through the evening by Lyle, the course greenskeeper (played by Doug Latham), and filled with both comedy and drama, this is a true slice of life that everyone can relate to. Winner of the 2007 Rocky Mountain Theatre Association Best Play Award.

Lindsey Humphries serves as director of 18 Holes, with Kevin Fuld as Assistant Director and Darcy Koss as Stage Manager. Set and lighting design is by Dave Tenney and sound design is by Jason Rice. Costumes are by Britney Lindsey, and props are by Terrie Justus.

Tickets for 18 Holes are $16.00 on Thursdays and the one Saturday matinee and $22.00 on Fridays and Saturdays. Thursday, April 23 is Preview Night, and all seats are $10.00 in advance online or "pay-what-you-can" at the door. After the show on Friday, April 24, patrons can meet the playwright, Gene Kato, who will be attending from Denver, and the director, cast, and designers at Rover's First Friday Insiders party for an additional $10 per ticket.
