Kitchen Cafe Dallas to Welcome JIM CARUSO'S CAST PARTY, 9/11-12

Kitchen Café Dallas will present the return of Jim Caruso's Cast Party on Thursday and Friday, September 11 & 12 from 7:30 - 10:30pm. Called an "extreme open mic" by ABC-TV, Jim Caruso's Cast Party is a wildly popular event that has been bringing Broadway glitz and urbane wit to the legendary Birdland in NYC every Monday for the past eleven years. The hilarious impromptu evening has also been celebrating local talent in Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Chicago, Austin, and on the high seas. Now, for the second time, Caruso and Stritch are bringing the fun to Dallas, their old stomping grounds! Their May booking was a smashing success, packing a record number of audience members into Kitchen Café Dallas.

The buoyant, sharp and charming Jim Caruso hosts the entire affair like a bubbly cruise director, musical genius Billy Stritch holds court at the ivories, and the audience is invited to participate in the festivities! Performers wishing to take part in the musical fun should bring sheet music (in the correct key) for an upbeat song.

Jim Caruso started his show business career in Dallas, singing in clubs and working at Theater Three and Dallas Repertory Theater. Now a New Yorker, he performs in concert, hosts many events, and recently made his Broadway debut singing and dancing alongside Liza Minnelli in Liza's At The Palace. Billy Stritch is originally from Sugarland, Texas, and has become a jazz/cabaret star with his sold-out solo shows in the US and abroad, as well as with Liza Minnelli, Charles Aznavour, Marilyn Maye, Linda Lavin, and many others.

Kitchen Café Dallas is fast becoming a unique nightspot featuring live entertainment and homemade cuisine. (Wine and spirits are available.) Kitchen Café owner Tony Hakim says, "We were thrilled with the response when Jim and Billy brought Cast Party to the room in May. Between the fantastic talent and the cheering fans, we had to bring in extra chairs from other venues! We're so proud that Kitchen Café is the Dallas home of Cast Party!"
