KD College, a subsidiary of KD Studio, Imagination Players' presents The Wizard of Oz, the classic story of Dorothy, a young Kansas farm girl, and her adventures with the Scarecrow, the Tin Man, and the Cowardly Lion in the merry old land of Oz. However, audiences should not expect the traditional Wizard of Oz. "We all know The Wizard of Oz, " Says Director Terri Ferguson, "but we've updated it just a bit. Kansas is Kansas is Kansas, but Oz has moved a bit toward the east. Echoes of Tokyo and Animé creep in around the edges of our story."

Opening on Thursday, May 5th at 7:00 pm, the musical runs through May 8th. Performances are held on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights at 7:00 pm and Saturday and Sunday afternoon at 2:00 pm. All proceeds from the Saturday 2:00pm performance benefits The Scottish Rite Hospital. The KD Studio Theatre is located at 2600 Stemmons Frwy Ste 180 Dallas, TX 75207.

The Wizard of Oz is an American classic. The Imagination Players production will use the Royal Shakespeare Company version of the script and score, which most closely follows the well-loved 1939 MGM movie. Everyone's favorite songs from the movie are here, including "Somewhere Over the Rainbow," "If I Only Had a Brain," and "We're Off to See the Wizard (The Wonderful Wizard of Oz)."

"We are thrilled to produce The Wizard of Oz for the community," says Lynn Ambrose, Imagination Players Producer. "We're pulling out all the stops for this production. Along with great singing and acting, this show will have amazing costumes, sets, and special effects!"

"The story of finding your place in this world is Universal says Ryan Mattheu Smith, Designer, "And I think it's important to share other cultures and view points with today's youth in order to teach them tolerance for mankind's individuality."

KD College, a professional film and acting institute, was founded in 1979. It provides training to actors for stage, television and film performances. Apart from the Acting Performance Program, KD College also offers a Motion Picture Production Program and a Musical Theatre Program. It also organizes modeling programs for adults, teenagers and children.

The Wizard of Oz is directed by Terri Ferguson, Choreographed by Stephanie Butler, and musical directed by Lynn Ambrose.

Tickets are $15 for adults and $8 for students. Tickets may be purchased at the door with no service charge or by going to brownpapertickets.com for a small service charge.
