GENTLEMAN'S GUIDE Star Kristen Beth Williams to Lead Lyric Stage's CAMELOT

By:
Lyric Stage opens its 24th season with Alan Jay Lerner and Frederick Loewe's Broadway classic CAMELOT, September 9-18, in the Irving Arts Center's Carpenter Performance Hall, 3333 N. MacArthur Boulevard in Irving, Texas.

The production will feature the 38-piece Lyric Stage Orchestra playing Robert Russell Bennett and Philip J. Lang's original Broadway orchestrations.

Relive the time-honored legend of King Arthur, Guinevere, Lancelot and the Knights of the Round Table. This enchanting fable of chivalry, majesty and brotherhood is a four-time, Tony Award-winning musical. Lerner & Loewe's glorious score includes the classics "If Ever I Would Leave You," "The Simple Joys of Maidenhood," and the title song, "Camelot."

Len Pfluger returns to Lyric Stage after helming last season's critically acclaimed Grand Hotel to direct CAMELOT. Conducting the 38-piece Lyric Stage Orchestra is Lyric Stage music director Jay Dias. Fight choreography is by Bill Lengfelder.

Dallas native Kristen Beth Williams, currently starring in the national tour of A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder, is Guinevere. Ms. Williams starred in London's West End production of Top Hat. Her Broadway credits include Pippin, Nice Work if You Can Get It, Anything Goes and Promises, Promises. Brent Alford, last seen at Lyric Stage as Henry Higgins in My Fair Lady, returns as King Arthur. Christopher J. Deaton, who can be heard as Ulysses in Lyric Stage's The Golden Apple, as recorded live by PS CLASSICS, returns to Lyric Stage as Sir Lancelot. Deaton has been seen as the leading man in Lyric Stage's The Desert Song and The New Moon, the Wolf and Cinderella's Prince in Into the Woods and as the Baron in Grand Hotel.

Joining them are Sonny Franks as Pellinore, David Fenley as Merlyn, Brandon McInnis as Mordred and Kelly Silverthorn as Nimue.

The cast also includes Trevor Martin, Wm. Clay Thompson, Drew Shafranek, Sarah Comley Caldwell, Michael McMillan, Ben Phillips, Julie Rhodes, John Wenzel, Tatem Lee, David Price, Chapman Blake, Jonathan Hardin, J. Anthony Holmes, Mark Blowers, Mindy Bell, Lucy Shea, Megan A Liles, Sarah Elizabeth Price, James Williams, Samantha Whitbeck and Spencer Sloan.

Performances are September 9, 10, 15, 16 & 17 @ 7:30 PM and September 11 & 18 @ 2:30 PM. Tickets are available at www.lyricstage.org or by calling the Irving Arts Center's box office at 972-252-2787 or in person at the Box Office at Irving Arts Center, 3333 N. MacArthur Blvd.
