Denton Community Theatre presents DRIVING MISS DAISY by Alfred Uhry. Directed by John Rodgers the cast features Lee Skinner as Daisy - a newcomer to the Denton stage but is very familiar with the character from Butterfield Stage's production of the play. DCT is also thrilled to welcome Dunashay Thomas as Hoke. Caleb Norris, who has become a DCT favorite appearing in many productions in the past couple of years, completes the cast.

The time is 1948, the place is a small southern town in the USA. In this place and in this era an unlikely friendship begins to develop between a cantankerous elderly white woman and a proud, thoughtful black man who is employed as her driver. Over the years they find the common humanity in one another. The play is sweet and heartwarming, but not saccharine and its message is affirming rather than self-righteous. Join us as we celebrate this touchingly beautiful story.

Performances are February 5, 6, 12, 13 at 7:30 pm and February 7 & 14 at 2:00 pm at DCT's POINTBank Black Box Theatre located at 318 E. Hickory, Denton. Tickets are $15 and can be purchased through The Campus Theatre Box Office Monday through Friday from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm. To purchase by phone, call 940-382-1915. Tickets are also available online at dentoncommunitytheatre.com.
