Amphibian Stage Productions is set to present a staged reading of Lee Blessing's drama, Two Rooms. Illana Stein directs the first "'Phibs at The Modern" reading of 2012 on January 30 at 7 PM.

About the Play
An American teacher is held hostage in a dark room after being captured in Beirut. His wife holds a vigil for him in an empty room in their house outside DC. Michael dictates unsent letters to his wife from his cell, while Lainie vies between Walker, a journalist intent to tell her story to the public, and Ellen, a State department official who wants to keep her quiet. Lee Blessing's Two Rooms navigates the worlds of politics, journalism, and terrorism, while examining the ties that bind people together and the forces that would tear them apart.

Two Rooms will be presented in Fort Worth on Monday, January 30 at 7 PM at the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth. Tickets are $15 for adults, $10 for seniors, and $5 for students.

About Amphibian Stage Productions
Amphibian Stage Productions is a non-profit theatre company founded in 2000 by three alumni of TCU's Department of Theatre who strive to produce innovative and engaging works of theatre that challenge the way we see the world around us. Now in its thirteenth season, Amphibian has produced numerous groundbreaking and challenging plays (some regional premieres, others US or world premieres) that foster a deeper understanding of ourselves as members of the global community. Biographies
Lee Blessing (Playwright) is best known for his play, A Walk in the Woods, which was nominated for both a Tony Award and a Pulitzer Prize. Recent plays include A Body of Water, Whores, The Scottish Play, Black Sheep, Fortinbras, and many others. He graduated from the Iowa Playwrights Workshop and the Iowa Writers' Workshop at the University of Iowa, and he currently heads the graduate playwriting program at Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University.
Illana Stein (Director) is a freelance director originally from Fort Worth who now resides in New York City. Directing credits include: Darker (2011 Cincinnati Fringe Festival; Critic's Pick & Acclaimed Production), Home Free! (Oregon Shakespeare Festival Midnight Project), A Midsummer Night's Dream, In Love with Shakespeare (Cincinnati Shakespeare Company Educational Tours), Burying Barbie, The Woolgatherer, Autobahn, As You Like It, and Ophelia's Story. She was Assistant to the Artistic Director for 3 years at Cincinnati Shakespeare Company where she served as resident assistant director/dramaturg on over 20 productions and assisted with casting. She is co-founder and former Artistic Director of ORASI Productions and has a B.F.A. in Drama from the University of Oklahoma.
