About the BroadwayWorld Crossword
How do I play?
Select a square and type. Select it again, or press Space, to switch between Across and Down. Arrow keys move around the grid, Tab jumps to the next clue, and the bar above the grid always shows the clue you are solving.
What is it about?
Every answer is theatre: the people, shows, venues and stage terms in the news that week, plus a few evergreen favourites. If you have been reading BroadwayWorld, you have a head start.
How do streaks and stats work?
Solve each week's puzzle to build a streak; this week's puzzle only counts against you once next week's arrives. Your best time counts solves with no reveals. Log in and your progress, streak and times follow you to any device. Play without logging in and they stay on the device you are using.
How does the leaderboard work?
The weekly board ranks logged-in members by time, counting only solves with no revealed squares. The all-time board ranks members by puzzles solved, then solves without checks or reveals, then best time. Reveal a square and that solve is off the leaderboard for good; clearing the grid afterwards does not reset it, though the solve still counts towards your streak. Play logged out and your solve still counts for you, but there is no name to put up in lights.
When is there a new puzzle?
A new crossword arrives every Sunday, and earlier puzzles stay available in the back catalogue. It is free to play, with no sign-up.
