WICKED Soars into Segerstrom Hall, Now thru 3/17
Segerstrom Hall is set to welcome the national tour of the iconic Broadway hit WICKED, for a month-long stay next winter. The show is slated to play from tonight, February 20 to March 17, 2013.
Long before Dorothy drops in, two other girls meet in the Land of Oz. One, born with emerald green skin, is smart, fiery and misunderstood. The other is beautiful, ambitious and very popular. WICKED follows these two unlikely friends and college roomates grow into very different women: The Wicked Witch of the West and Glinda the Good Witch. WICKED is based on the novel by Gregory Maguire, the music and lyrics are by Stephen Schwartz (GODSPELL) with a book by Winnie Holzman.
WICKED originally opened on Broadway in 2004, in which it received 10 Tony Award nominations. Both the West End version of the show and the North American tour have been seen by over two million patrons each.
