OC's Theatre Out Closes SOUTHERN BAPTIST SISSIES, 9/4

Theatre Out, Orange County's gay and lesbian theatre, presents the Orange County Premiere of SOUTHERN BAPTIST SISSIES the dark comedy by Del Shores, creator of Sordid Lives.  SOUTHERN BAPTIST SISSIES, with performances running from August 13 through September 4, examines the conflicting experiences of four boys growing up in Texas as they struggle with what they know is right and what the church tells them is right.

The Los Angeles Times raves that SOUTHERN BAPTIST SISSIES is "Daring.  Heroic.  No-holds-barred hilarious."

"We are thrilled to be producing this amazing work by Del Shores," commented Jack Millis, Theatre Out's Artistic Director.  "The show is at once over-the-top fun and deeply touching."

SOUTHERN BAPTIST SISSIES openned in Los Angeles in 2000 to critical acclaim winning the GLAAD Media Award for Outstanding LA Theatre Production as well as multiple LA Weekly Theatre Awards, Los Angeles Critics Awards, Ovation Awards and BackStage West Garland Awards.

Theatre out's production will be directed by Christopher Diehl. The cast features Justin Hambey, Michael Rachlis, Paul Anderson, Tito Ortiz, Delfin Lopez, Roxie Lee, Stan Jenson and Lori Kelley.

Tickets to Theatre Out's production of SOUTHERN BAPTISTS SISSIES are priced $18 (adults) and $15.00 (students with valid student ID). Special prices are available for select performances.

Performances are scheduled on Fridays, Saturdays and select Thursdays are at 8:00 pm and select Sunday matinees are at 2:00 pm. Dates are August 13-14, 20-22, 26-29 and September 2-4.

Approximate Running Time: 2 hours with one intermission
