Musical Theatre West presents A Fine Romance, 3/14
Musical Theatre West joins two of their favorite performers in an evening of love and music in A Fine Romance…in Song and Dance starring David Engel and Tami Tappan Damiano. This special event will take place Sunday, March 14, 2010 at the spectacular Carpenter Performing Arts Center in Long Beach.
A Fine Romance is about a couple meeting, falling in love, getting married and then living and loving through a myriad of issues, told completely through song. Individually, David Engel and Tami Tappan Damiano each have brought their incomparable talents to the MTW stage numerous times. Together, they have an onstage chemistry that is unmatched in Southern California Theater. This duo sings and dances like no one else can in this cabaret that features the classic love songs, "Blues in the Night", "But The World Goes Round", "Baby It's Cold Outside", "All Of Me", "I Won't Dance", and the title tune "A Fine Romance," and many more.
David Engel is a favorite to MTW audiences. He is now a six-time recipient of the L.A. Stage Alliance Ovation Award and audiences will remember Mr. Engel starring on the MTW stage in such shows as Forbidden Broadway, The Producers, The Andrews Brothers, Crazy for You, La Cage aux Folles, Singin' in the Rain, Kiss Me, Kate, Never Gonna Dance and The Full Monty. David appeared on Broadway in Putting It Together, Seussical: The Musical, and the original production of La Cage aux Folles as well as the National Tour of White Christmas. David was one of the original cast members of the megahit Forever Plaid and appeared in Forever Plaid: The Movie.
