LIFE COULD BE A DREAM, RITA RUDNER Play Laguna Playhouse this Summer

By:

The Laguna Playhouse heats up this summer with three sizzling shows guaranteed to have audiences laughing—and singing!

The summer season opens July 6 and runs through August 29 with the Orange County premiere of LIFE COULD BE A DREAM, L.A.'s long-running hit musical. This summer also brings the return of two wildly popular shows. First, everyone's favorite "Sister" returns with 'TIL DEATH DO US PART: LATE NITE CATECHISM 3, which runs Monday nights from July 12 through August 9. Then, back by popular demand after two sold out performances in May, comedienne Rita Rudner brings her stand-up show to The Laguna Playhouse August 15-16 and 22-23.

LIFE COULD BE A DREAM
July 6- August 29, 2010

SH-BOOM! From the "marvelous" mind of Roger Bean, creator of the Marvelous Wonderettes and Winter Wonderettes, comes a story of four guys trying their last chance at fame and fortune. Denny, Eugene, Skip, and Wally form a singing group to enter and win the local radio contest and realize their dreams of making it to the big time!  This long-running hit musical played to sold-out houses after opening in Los Angeles last August, and promises to do the same here in Laguna. This Orange County premiere features the original five actors reprising their roles for the Laguna Playhouse. Featuring such classic songs as "Stay (Just a Little Bit Longer)," "Earth Angel," "Runaround Sue," "The Great Pretender," and of course the title song, Life Could Be A Dream is musical trip down memory lane that will leave audiences laughing, singing and cheering. Winner of multiple Ovation Awards, L.A. Drama Critics Circle Awards, and L.A. Weekly Awards. Tickets: $35-70.

AN EVENING WITH Rita Rudner
August 15-16 and 22-23, 2010

After two sold-out performances in May, award-winning comedian and Las Vegas headliner Rita Rudner brings her sophisticated wit and clever one-liners back to The Laguna Playhouse for four additional performances this summer. Rudner's sharp timing and soft-spoken voice have become her trademarks while delivering hilarious and witty observations on everyday life.  Rudner has spent the last 10 years as a headliner at Harrah's on the famous Las Vegas Strip, but is relishing in the opportunity to perform locally—she and her husband own a home in Monarch Beach. Tickets: $45-55
