Ann Hampton Callaway, Laura Osnes, Tony Yazbeck and More Slated for Segerstrom Center's 2017-18 Cabaret Series
Segerstrom Center for the Arts' 2017 - 2018 Cabaret Series celebrates the power of music and words to touch our lives and hearts. Broadway stars and today's leading vocalists and club performers will perform many of the greatest and most memorable songs composed by music legends and icons.
Central to the series is a special 100th birthday salute to America's maestro - composer, conductor, educator and author Leonard Bernstein. Giving soul and expression to the songs of Bernstein and many others during the season will be celebrated and award-winning artists Amanda McBroom and Ann Hampton Callaway, Laura Osnes, Mary Testa, Lisa Howard, Jessica Vosk, Tony Yazbeck and Chris Mann.
Subscriptions to the 2017 - 2018 Cabaret Series are $294 for all four engagements are available now. Single tickets will go on sale approximately eight weeks prior to individual engagements. They call their show Divalicious, we call it a cabaret Dream Team as these two singer/songwriters and Center favorites join forces in the Cabaret Series. McBroom, best known for writing Bette Midler's hit song "The Rose," delivers her ballads in a storytelling, spellbinding tender embrace; Callaway, who has composed for the likes of Barbra Streisand, can sing love songs and scat jazz with the best. They'll be singing their own works as well as music from the Great American Songbook.

The princesses are throwing a ball! Laura Osnes, a Tony nominee for playing the title role in Rodgers + Hammerstein's Cinderella on Broadway, is bringing some of her leading lady friends for a dazzling evening of music magic! Adrienne Warren, a Tony nominee for Shuffle Along, and Courtney Reed, Broadway's original Princess Jasmine in Aladdin, join Osnes and music director Benjamin Ruahala on stage. They'll perform the most beloved princess songs of stage and screen, reminiscing about their favorite fairytales and most cherished characters.

One of the world's most prolific musical luminaries, composer-maestro-educator Leonard Bernstein was born August 25, 1918. As part of a global celebration of his centennial year, this sparkling tribute features Tony Award nominees from two revivals of Bernstein's On the Town - Tony Yazbeck and Mary Testa - plus Broadway veterans Lisa Howard and Jessica Vosk and the Cal State Fullerton University Chorus directed by Dr. Robert Istad. The repertoire will include the very best of the Bernstein catalog, with selections from On the Town, Wonderful Town, Candide and West Side Story.
Chris Mann | CENTER DEBUT

Chris Mann appeared at the Center in the title role of The Phantom of the Opera in 2015. One critic called his performance "spectacular." A classically trained singer with European opera and Hollywood studio credits, Mann found his spotlight on the NBC reality competition show The Voice, where he became a favorite as coach Christian Aguilera's finalist. He'll be singing a bit of Phantom as well as selections from his recent album Constellations, which features songs he wrote to explore and express his musical and personal journeys.

Previously called the Orange County Performing Arts Center, Segerstrom Center is Orange County's largest non-profit arts organization. In addition to its six performance venues, Segerstrom Center is also home to the American Ballet Theatre William J. Gillespie School, where students ages 3 - 14 are taught by acclaimed teachers utilizing the renowned ABT National Training Curriculum in studios utilized by the world's greatest dancers and choreographers.
The Center presents a broad range of programming for audiences of all ages, including international ballet and dance, national tours of top Broadway shows, intimate performances of jazz and cabaret, contemporary artists, classical music performed by renowned chamber orchestras and ensembles, family- friendly programming, free performances open to the public from outdoor movie screenings to dancing on the plaza and many other special events.
The Center's arts-in-education programs are designed to inspire young people through the arts and reach hundreds of thousands of students each year. In addition to the presenting and producing institution Segerstrom Center for the Arts, the 14-acre campus also embraces the facilities of two independent acclaimed organizations: Tony Award®-winning South Coast Repertory and a site designated as the future home of the Orange County Museum of Art.
Segerstrom Center for the Arts is also proud to serve as the artistic home to three of the region's major performing arts organizations: Pacific Symphony, the Philharmonic Society of Orange County and the Pacific Chorale, who contribute greatly to the artistic life of the region with annual seasons at Segerstrom Center for the Arts.
