The Sherman Players will present a staged reading of A FOR ALCOHOL, a new script by local playwright Morgana Kate Watson (Are You My Sister?), directed by Stacey Snyder. Performances are Friday September 1 and Saturday September 2 at 8 p.m.
As a kid, Addison was verbally and emotionally abused by her teacher, Trent. She confided in her Art Teacher, Diane, but when Diane turns around and marries Trent, Addison falls into a rabbit hole of depression and her view on life is forever changed.
Fifteen years later, Addison is a teacher herself. When she finds Diane and Trent's son Ryan in her class, she is forced to face the time in her life she would rather forget. To make matters worse, Diane and Trent have since split. The divorce was nasty, and Diane's older daughter Siena has issues of her own that are bubbling to the surface.
The reading will feature: Lizzy Booth, Emma Burke-Covitz, Luka Canto, Angie Joachim, Rob Mayette, Erin Shaughnessy, Allyson Snyder and Morgana Kate Watson.
The reading is free, but donations are appreciated.
Doors open at 7:30 p.m.
