Misfit America, a world premiere by Nelson Diaz-Marcano and directed by Blaze Teicher, tells the story of an interracial couple who lead a diverse community facing a threat from a brotherhood of supremacists. Set against a backdrop where magical realism meets Western genre conventions, the narrative explores themes of trust and reconciliation as the community fights to protect a Native American teen. The production emphasizes the importance of understanding their shared history while preparing for an uncertain future. The show will run at Pa'lante Theater Company from June 6 to June 15, 2025.
