The Windham Theatre Guild kicks off their first production for 2014 with another winning comedy production. It's The Love List written by Norm Foster, Canada's most popular playwright, known for his familiar Neil Simon comedy style... opening Friday, February 7th at the Burton Leavitt Theater. WTG first introduced area theatre goers to Norm Foster with the production of Opening Night and then again with his hilarious Bedtime Stories.

Foster's cleverly constructed script takes aim at aging singles and contemporary dating services by imagining what might happen when one man gets the chance to order his dream date and actually have the order filled. Bill , a shy, mild-mannered civil servant, divorced for seven years and dateless for almost as long, and his best friend Lee concoct a list of attributes of the ideal woman...the top ten best qualities in a mate. When this alleged "ideal Woman" actually arrives on the scene, the two friends quickly learn that their list could use a few revisions. Be careful what you wish for, especially in choosing a mate. This old adage leads to hilarious results in this sparkling comic hit. The show has adult themes and not recommended for children.

David Smith is excited to be making his Directing debut for the Guild. David is a B.A. Theatre Studies candidate at the University of Connecticut. He has previously directed new play development projects at UConn. He also served as a dramaturg at Connecticut Repertory Theatre for The Miser, Spring Awakening, and O'Beautiful and as an Associate Production Manager during the 2013 Nutmeg Summer Series. Here at the Windham Theatre Guild, he appeared as the Cowardly Lion in The Wizard of Oz as well as in the ensemble of The Secret Garden and Aida.
