Three Dog Night To Play The Ridgefield Playhouse 8/3
By: Gabrielle Sierra
Three Dog Night will play at The Ridgefield Playhouse on Wednesday, August 3
One of the most successful bands of all time, Three Dog Night will be in concert at The Ridgefield Playhouse on Wednesday, August 3, at 8 p.m. Known for their hits "Mama Told Me Not to Come", "Joy to the World", "Black and White" and Laura Nyro's "Eli's Coming" and dozens more, this famous band has performed more than 2000 shows since 1986 including two Super Bowls. From 1969 - 1974, no one had more top 10 hits, moved more records or sold more concert tickets. With their rock, pop rock and blue-eyed soul sound,Three Dog Night was undoubtedly the most popular band in America with twenty-one consecutive Top 40 hits and twelve straight gold LPs and record sales at nearly 50 million by late '75. Today, Three Dog Night continues to top the list of artists with the best Billboard Top 100 Chart average. They released two new singles in 2009 - "Heart of Blues" and "Prayer of the Children" - which are available exclusively online at iTunes, and they are at work on a new studio album as their touring schedule allows.
More examples of their phenomenal recording success would be "One" (U.S. #5), "An Old Fashioned Love Song" (#4) and "Out in the Country" (#15) as well as "Easy to be Hard" from the colossal Broadway hit Hair. Three Dog Night was inducted into The Vocal Group Hall of Fame in 2000.
