SCA Board Chairman, Michael L. Widland today announced that HARMAN will upgrade the SCA's audio equipment with a completely redesigned, state-of-the-art professional-grade audio installation. In honor of this generous donation, The Palace Theatre will be naming the stage the HARMAN Stage.

The HARMAN Stage naming is the first such recognition since the expansion of The Palace in 2003 and represents the commitment of HARMAN to SCA's bright future as a leader in the arts and entertainment industry in the Northeast. "SCA is so grateful for the generosity of Dinesh Paliwal and HARMAN for this incredible donation," said SCA Board Chairman, Michael L. Widland. "What this leading gift affords the SCA is immeasurable. It will make The Palace more attractive to our resident companies, community users and outside promoters, providing audio at the highest level for a performing arts center. SCA looks forward to building on a long term relationship with HARMAN in the community and in the arts and entertainment industry. "

"HARMAN has a track record of partnering with Governments, NGOs and businesses to provide world class professional sound in many of the most prestigious venues around the globe," said Dinesh C. Paliwal, Chairman, President and CEO of HARMAN. "We recognize the value of supporting the arts within our community and showcasing the capabilities of world-class companies like ours that call Connecticut home."

"This outstanding gift, one of the largest ever made to SCA, comes at a time that will serve as an inspiration to other business leaders and philanthropists who choose to support our wonderful community-based performing arts center," said SCA Executive Director, Elissa O. Getto. This state-of-the-art audio package includes speakers, monitors, mixing consoles and microphones. Equipment from HARMAN's respected brands such as JBL®, Crown®, Soundcraft® and AKG® will be integrated to create this amazing package.

HARMAN audio installations can be found in the world's best known performance venues, including Jazz at Lincoln Center and Radio City Music Hall in New York, the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, Royal Albert Hall in London, the Vienna State Opera, and the Shanghai Grand Theatre. For generations, HARMAN products have been a favorite of the world's greatest musical artists, touring with legendary performers such as Paul McCartney,

Frank Sinatra, Celine Dion, Rod Stewart, Quincy Jones, and Bruce Springsteen. Since 2008, HARMAN has served as the official sound partner of the GRAMMY® Awards.

In exchange for the donation, HARMAN will receive marquee recognition as well as recognition on the stage and in all SCA's marketing materials. The timing of this announcement coincides with the SCA's preview of its 85th anniversary season.
