The O'Neill Hosts the 20th Annual Fishers Island Golf Tournament 6/1

The 2010 Tony Award winning Eugene O'Neill Theater, in Waterford, Connecticut, will host their 20th Anniversary Annual Fishers Island Golf Tournament on Wednesday, June 1, 2011 at the Fishers Island Golf Club on Fishers Island, New York. The course, designed by Seth Raynor and Charles Bank in 1926, was rated by GolfDigest as the number 9 course in their list of America's 100 Greatest Golf Courses of 2009-10 and also makes the list of top 30 golf courses in the world.

The O'Neill would also like to recognize the incredible Fishers Island Club Staff and the 2011 Golf Tournament Committee for their continued tireless efforts to help make this a successful golf tournament and fundraiser!

The Eugene O'Neill Theater Center, founded in 1964 in honor of Eugene O'Neill, four-time Pulitzer Prize Winner and America's only playwright to win the Nobel Prize in Literature, is the recipient of two Tony Awards, in 2010 for Regional Theatre, and in 1979 for Theatrical Excellence.

The O'Neill is the country's preeminent organization dedicated to the development of new works and new voices for the American theater. The O'Neill has been home to more than 1,000 new works for the stage and 2,500 emerging artists. Scores of projects developed at the O'Neill have gone on to full production at other theaters around the world, including Broadway, Off-Broadway and major regional theaters.
