The Bushnell's Family Fun Day Returns in 2013 with ERTH's Dinosaur Petting Zoo Today

The Bushnell's annual Family Fun Day is back this year today, April 6, 2013 with an all new adventure, ERTH's Dinosaur Petting Zoo. Family Fun Day activities will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. with performances of ERTH's Dinosaur Petting Zoo at 10:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. in the Belding Theater. All Family Fun Day activities, including, ERTH's Dinosaur Petting Zoo are FREE and open to the public.

Erth's awesome prehistoric creatures, from cute baby dinos to teeth-gnashing giants, live in a petting zoo like no other! These ancient life-like dinosaurs come to life in an eye-popping display in this fun, educational and imaginative performance that will thrill and delight audiences of all ages.

Dinosaur Petting Zoo allows heaps of interaction for kids and adults while they travel with Erth's multi-faceted performers on a journey through prehistoric ages. Experience an amazing selection of dinosaurs and creatures that inhabited the Earth millions of years ago.

Audiences will have the opportunity to feed, water and care for these prehistoric marvels via simple lessons in animal husbandry. The Meganuera, Dwarf Allosaur and Leallynasaura can't wait to be petted and fed. Dare you get too close?

More Family Fun Day activities include live animals from Imagine Nation Children's Museum (from Bristol, CT), a "Music Zoo" with the Hartford Symphony Orchestra, balloon animals, face painting and many other ongoing activities.

Celebrating 80 years, The Bushnell is Connecticut's premier performing arts center, hosting more than 350 events yearly, including major Broadway tours, symphony orchestras, family presentations, local arts and community events. The Bushnell is home to two theaters- the historic 2,800-seat Mortensen Hall, and the 907-seat Belding Theater, a state-of-the-art performance hall that opened in 2001. The Bushnell's nationally recognized, award-winning, arts-in-education program, PARTNERS (Partners in Arts and Education Revitalizing Schools), now in its 19th year, continues to provide quality arts-in-education programs for schools and communities across Greater Hartford.
