The following Maser Classes will be held at Playhouse on Park and are appropriate for high school aged students through adults. Advanced registration is required.

Business of Theatre: A life in the theatre is one of the most challenging, exhilaration and rewarding paths to choose. This master class is one designed for the high school aged or college aged student who is considering following their passion and pursuing their dreams of being a professional actor. Come to The Playhouse on Park and learn about the ins, outs, ups and downs of what it takes to make your way in the world of the professional theatre. This workshop is scheduled for Saturday, October 27th from 12pm to 1:30pm. The cost is $40 per person.

Stage Combat: Everyone loves a good stage fight. Have you ever seen an exciting fight scene and wondered how they do that? Now you can know. At this workshop, learn the basics of both armed and unarmed Stage Combat technique with a trained professional. Have a safe, fun and exciting time learning what goes into making a fight scene that keeps you on The Edge of your seat. Unarmed Staged Combat is scheduled for Saturday, October 20th from 2pm to 4pm. Armed Staged Combat is scheduled for Saturday, October 27th from 2pm to 4pm. The cost for each work shop is $45 or sign up for both for just $80.

Shannon Michael Wamser is an actor, director, fight director, writer and teaching artist from New York City. He has been a member of Actor's Equity Association for eleven years and his work has been seen in New York City and around the country in some of the top regional theatres. As a director and writer he has worked extensively in New York and founded two successful companies: Stages on the Sound, dedicated to new works and educational outreach and taxdeductible theatre, dedicated to actor-generated new works. Also, his work as a director has been seen in six Edinburgh fringe festivals and in Teatre Polski's Close Strangers festival. As an educator he has worked with some of the finest theatrical institutions, including The Shakespeare Society, the Brooklyn Academy Of Music, The New Jersey Performing Arts Center, and The Professional Performing Arts School. Also, he has taught with Ohio University, University of Miami, Stephens College and The University of Hartford and served as the Director of Putney Student Travel's Theatre in Britian Program for eight years. He has taught workshops for Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park, Arkansas Repertory Theatre and Orlando Shakespeare Theatre among others. He has extensive stage combat experience and has staged or performed in fights for Arkansas Repertory Theatre, Flux Theatre Ensemble, New York Theatre Workshop and The Metropolitan Playhouse among several others.
