Platinum-Selling Rock Group Train Performs at Greenwich Wine + Food Festival, Today

Platinum-selling rock band Train will be performing next Saturday, September 23 at the Greenwich Wine + Food Festival in Greenwich, Connecticut (www.greenwichwineandfood.com). In a nutshell, the event, now in its seventh year, will be taking place September 22-23 on the waterfront in Roger Sherman Baldwin Park in downtown Greenwich. The multi-day event will feature a Master Chef Dinner on Friday evening, this year honoring celebrity chef Scott Conant and the 2017 Most Innovative/Ambassador Chefs from CT and NY.

Adam Richman (Travel Channel's "Secret Eats with Adam Richman," NBC's "Food Fighters) will again be in attendance, and the night will be capped off with a performance by Big Head Todd and The Monsters.

The Saturday Festival features tastings, demonstrations by celebrity and local talent, celebrity chef book signings, the sixth annual Burger Battle, the fourth annual Top Bartender's Showdown and Train's live performance. In addition to Conant and Richman, Mario Batali, Alex Guarnaschelli ("Chopped," "Iron Chef," Food Network's "All-Star Academy"), Kevin Des Chenes ("Chef Wanted," "Beat Bobby Flay," 2015 winner of "Top Celebrity Chef Showdown") and several local personalities will be conducting cooking and spirits demos.

As always, one aspect that makes this festival unique is that proceeds benefit local and national charities; this year's beneficiaries include the Mario Batali Foundation, the Friends of James Beard Benefits and the Greenwich Parks & Recreation Fund.

For Train fans, the cost of a general admission ticket to the festival - $155 per person - will not only provide access to the Train concert but also opener Ian Murray Band, featuring special guest Pete Francis of Dispatch in the evening, as well as unlimited food, wine, beer and cocktail tastings from 12pm leading up to the concert.
