National Theatre Live's 2013 broadcast of the Donmar Warehouse's production of Coriolanus returns to select cinemas in HD by popular demand. AAA Northeast at The Playhouse: Live in HD Series will present Shakespeare's searing tragedy of political manipulation and revenge on Friday, January 8, at 6:30 p.m.

Coriolanus features an Evening Standard Award-winning performance from Tom Hiddleston (The Avengers, War Horse (film), BBC's The Hollow Crown) in the title role, directed by the Donmar's Artistic Director Josie Rourke. The full company includes Jacqueline Boatswain, Peter De Jersey, Alfred Enoch, Deborah Findlay, Hadley Fraser, Mark Gatiss, Birgitte Hjort Sørensen, Elliot Levey, Rochenda Sandall, Helen Schlesinger, Mark Stanley and Dwane Walcott. This tragedy is based on the life of the legendary Roman leader Caius Marcius Coriolanus.

A live screening of National Theater's Les Liaisons Dangereuses comes to the screen on Thursday, January 28, at 2:00 p.m. In 1782, Choderlos de Laclos' novel of sex, intrigue and betrayal in pre-revolutionary France scandalized the world. Two hundred years later, Christopher Hampton's irresistible adaptation swept the board, winning the Olivier and Evening Standard Awards for Best Play. Josie Rourke's revival now marks the play's thirty year anniversary.

Other exciting National Theater in HD performances include an encore screening of "As You Like It", Shakespeare's glorious comedy of love and change, with Rosalie Craig (London Road, Macbeth at MIF) as Rosalind on February 28, at 5:00 p.m. The AAA Northeast at The Playhouse: Live in HD series is underwritten by Jeanne Cook, Anita and Nicholas Donofrio, Liz and Steven Goldstone, Sabina and Walter Slavin, with support from The Ridgefield Press and Whistle Stop Bakery. Media sponsor is WSHU.
