Ivoryton Playhouse to Present LOVE, LOSS, AND WHAT I WORE, 2/21-23

By:

The immortal words of Nora Ephron are brought to life, amongst racks of clothes and reminiscences of favorite shoes, at the Ivoryton Playhouse - February 21st, 22nd, and 23rd.

Proving that a great show is always in fashion, Love, Loss, and What I Wore has become an international hit. With its compulsively entertaining subject matter, this intimate collection of stories by Nora and Delia Ephron celebrated an accomplished two-and-a-half year run in New York's Westside Theatre. Love, Loss, and What I Wore is based on the best-seller by Ilene Beckerman as well as the recollections of the Ephrons' friends.

The show uses clothing and accessories and the memories they trigger to tell funny and often poignant stories that all women can relate to, creating one of the most enduring theatergoing experiences domestically and overseas.

Directed by Playhouse Executive Director, Jacqueline Hubbard, the play features local actors and directors who are well known in the shoreline community. As well as Hubbard, the cast includes Maggie McGlone Jennings, who has directed several shows at The Playhouse, Jeanie Rapp who is known to local audiences as the artistic director of Margreta Stage, Sue Pynn and Beverley Taylor who are both regulars on The Playhouse stage.

This special production is a partnership between the Ivoryton Playhouse and several different organizations that promote programs for women and children. Friday, February 21st is in partnership with Women & Family Life Center that is located in Guilford; Saturday, February 22nd is in partnership with the Community Foundation of Middlesex County Fund to support the Sari A. Rosenbaum Fund for Women & Girls; and Sunday is in partnership with Child and Family Agency of Southeastern CT. The Ivoryton Playhouse is proud to partner with these three different organizations to raise funds to help those in need in New Haven, Middlesex and New London County.

Performance times are Friday and Saturday at 7:30pm; Sunday at 2:00pm. Tickets are $30 for all ages and are available by calling The Playhouse box office at 860-767-7318 or by visiting our website at www.ivorytonplayhouse.org.
