Giancarlo Esposito to Host RAW Event at Ridgefield Playhouse, 11/9

Children and drug abuse in America are the top-of-mind topics that families are often at a loss for words to discuss. On Saturday, November 9, at 7:30 p.m., The Ridgefield Playhouse and The Ridgefield Prevention Council and Family University are hosting a free event calledRAW with popular actor/director/producer Giancarlo Esposito of the Breaking Bad television series, who will help families talk about drugs and how to keep it real and safe. Actor Giancarlo Esposito, best known for his portrayal of Gustavo "Gus" Fring on the series Breaking Bad, will share his experiences growing up with drugs and alcohol in his family and how it affected his life. Esposito's current TV role is playing Captain Tom Neville on NBC's Revolution. The audience will have a chance to meet Giancarlo Esposito at the Q&A after this event. This event is sponsored by Drug Abuse, America, Our Children and You and is a co-production of The Ridgefield Playhouse, The Ridgefield Prevention Council and Family University. It is part of the Moffly Media Entertaining Conversations Series and partially underwritten by Adam Broderick Salon and Spa.

Although Giancarlo Esposito got his big acting break at eight years old in the Broadway play Maggie Flynn, starring Shirley Jones and Irene Cara, he first came to prominence as a film and television actor during the '80s. He began the decade with small roles in films like Tapsand Trading Places but ended up as a regular in several Spike Lee efforts, most notably Do The Right Thing. Since then, Esposito has earned acclaim for his work on both big and small screens, including an Outstanding Supporting Actor Emmy nomination for his popular role on AMC'sBreaking Bad.
