The Cirillo Summer Theatre's Junior Division will present the energetic Doo Wop Wed Widing Hood involving 25 kids from Windsor and neighboring towns including Hartford, Suffield, Coventry, Manchester and Enfield. Cast members range in age from eight to fourteen.

Performances are July 25th at 7:30pm and July 26th at 1:00pm and 7:30pm at L.P. Wilson Community Center, 599 Matianuck Avenue in Windsor, CT. Tickets are $8,00, general admission, and $6.00 for under age 12 and over age 65. They will be available at the door.

"Every single kid has a part," said Karen Vinick, Teaching Artist and Junior Division Consultant. "This show has a lot of different roles for the kids to tackle. It brings many fairy tale scenes together."

Doo Wop Wed Widing Hood is a fun, adventurous romp set in the 1950's. Hula-hoops are in high demand-and so is Little Red Riding Hood, who is being pursued by three princes. The Fairy Godmother is commanded by the King and Queen to come up with three tasks for the princes, and only the one who can find the missing girl, defeat the dragon and awaken a visitor from her slumber will earn the right to woo Wed Widing Hood-that is, Red Riding Hood. Of course, several other characters get involved in the action, Red's couch potato parents, the proverbial Grandmother, an evil Queen, Red's sisters, and naturally, the Big Bad Wolf. The show has a sock-hopping 50's score and is guaranteed to end in happily-ever-after laughter for audiences and performers alike.

"We take on age appropriate material," said Karen. "The kids are really able to delve into it. We offer a really good program for kids in this age bracket."

The show is under the direction of Darnai Coombs with Jade King as the Rehearsal Assistant. CST veteran, Susan J. Vinick, is the Artistic Director.

About Cirillo Summer Theatre (CST) - The Cirillo Summer Theatre was founded in 1968 by the late Ernest P. Cirillo, English and drama teacher at Windsor High School and local community theatre director. A junior division for youngsters was added a couple of years later. The mission of the group is to educate young people in the theatre arts and to provide them with a creative outlet while entertaining the community at large. Throughout the years, CST has attracted youth and young adults, both newcomers and experienced, from local communities to act in its shows. Parents and other adults often give of their time working with the group in a variety of backstage areas right alongside of the children, teens and young adult members of the group's two age appropriate divisions.
