Ben Fankhauser, Paige Faure, and More Will Headline BROADWAY SINGS STEVIE WONDER At Ridgefield Playhouse
Broadway favorites Ben Fankhauser, Paige Faure, Corey Mach, and Sydney Morton are among the artists headed to the Ridgefield Playhouse on May 14 to sing completely new arrangements of the hits of the Stevie Wonder, accompanied by a 7-piece jazz band playing original orchestrations of his music. The concert will give tribute to this soul icon, putting new twists on his legendary songs including "Superstition", "Sir Duke", For Once In My Life", and "Signed, Sealed, Delivered". The music will be orchestrated and arranged by Joshua Stephen Kartes.
The full lineup includes Ben Fankhauser (Newsies), Paige Faure (Miss Saigon), Brittney Johnson (Sunset Boulevard), Corey Mach (Kinky Boots), Sydney Morton (Evita), and Austin Owen (Jersey Boys).
Stevie Wonder has recorded more than 30 Top Ten hits and has sold more than 100 million albums. He has received 22 Grammy Awards (the most ever awarded to a male solo artist) and was awarded a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award in 1996. In 2008, Billboard magazine released a list of the Hot 100 All-Time Top Artists with Wonder at number five.
Broadway Sings Stevie Wonder, produced and directed by Corey Mach (Godspell, Kinky Boots, Wicked), will celebrate the talent and success of this iconic artist. Previous artists honored in the series include Adele, Michael Jackson, Beyoncé, Sara Bareilles, and Whitney Houston.
