This electric megawatt of a Broadway musical inspired the hit 2006 movie starring Beyonce. Based loosely on the Supremes, it follows a fictional 1960s girl group, The Dreamettes, on their roller coaster journey to the top of the record charts. Filled with belting, high-energy songs and slick musical numbers, Dreamgirls promises fantastically entertaining theater along with some seismic emotional jolts.
