Step right up and take your shot at eternal fame! That’s the premise of Stephen Sondheim’s glitteringly dark and brilliant ode to that cadre of desperate lost souls—Presidential assassins. From John Wilkes Booth to Lee Harvey Oswald, Squeaky Fromme and John Hinkley, Sondheim’s stunning lyrics and score portray the psyches of these outcasts with both razzle-dazzle and fevered insanity. A challenging view of the American Dream.
