Orientalism masterpiece, Turandot is the story of a princess who has closed his heart to love and of an unknown prince who proposed conquer. Last opera by Giacomo Puccini, unfinished at his death and completed by Franco Alfano, represents the most mature and accomplished pucciniana production, besides being a wonderful and poignant closing the route creator of the composer. The opera takes place in ancient China, a world especially seductive and appealing to the European imagination, which is reflected not only in the visual, but also in the music itself. His score includes such tunes authentic Chinese themes imagined by Puccini himself suggesting the mystery of the East. Turandot is also noted for the special treatment of the chorus, which acquires more importance than in previous works of Italian musician, with scenes of stunning sonic opulence.
The opera production will revive the great Roberto Oswald created for the Teatro Municipal de Santiago in 2003.
