CWRU Department of Theater Presents: The Harvest by Samuel D. Hunter In this thought-provoking new play, a group of young people meet in the basement of a small evangelical church in southeastern Idaho, preparing to leave to do missionary work in the Middle East. One of them, Josh -- reeling from the recent loss of his father – has bought a one-way ticket and intends to stay on after the rest of the group returns. But his plans are complicated when his estranged sister, a recovering drug addict, returns home and makes it her mission to keep him there.
“Engrossing and suspenseful… The Harvest takes place in a jammed intersection of religion, family, sexuality and poverty, which the playwright maps out in evocative detail.” – Time Out New York
