Playhouse South Offers Free Monologue Workshop for Students, 3/8
Playhouse South Community Theater announces a free monologue workshop to be held on Monday, March 8, 2010 from 6:30pm to 9:30pm. The workshop is geared for students, ages 12-14 and will help with audition skills for the upcoming play "And Never Been Kissed." Topics covered in the workshop will include timing, inflection, and general presentation. The workshop will be run by Kelly Pekar, a recent graduate of Wright State University where she received her B.F.A. in Musical Theater. She is currently interning with the prestigious Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park.
It is requested that the workshop participants come prepared with a roughly one minute memorized monologue and a paper copy as well. The workshop will be held at Playhouse South's Clark Haines Theater, located at 3700 Far Hills Avenue in Kettering. Auditions for "And Never Been Kissed" will be March 15 & 16 at 7pm, also at the PHS theater. More information about these and other events can be found at the theater's website www.playhousesouth.org.
