AD: In the Spotlight - Audition Workshop with Ogunquit Playhouse CD - Audition Success Coachings

With the 2017 Audition Season in full swing, brush up your audition technique and learn how to best prepare and present yourself for a variety of audition situations!





Ogunquit Playhouse Casting Director and Director Anthony C. Daniel will be teaching a three week audition intensive focusing on how to nail your auditions and secure a callback. Focusing on presentation, acting a song, choice of material, and overall preparation, this workshop will surely help you walk in to your upcoming auditions and appointments with confidence and ease.

THE CLASS:





WEEK ONE - “ANYTHING GOES”



Anthony will assign a mock season of shows that could easily be seen at regional and summer stock theaters. Students will prepare and present themselves for this mock season and receive feedback and coaching on choice of material. Week One will focus on utilizing the actor’s tools and strengths to best prepare for the audition setting.





WEEK TWO - “MY STRONGEST SUIT”



Anthony will assign each student a role-appropriate audition packet of material (sides and song) to prepare. This week Anthony will focus on Show Specific auditions and how to nail your appointments/callback for the biggest titles in the Broadway, National Tour and Regional circuits.





WEEK THREE - “PUTTING IT TOGETHER”



Anthony will assign each student three brand new songs to fill in the missing holes in your audition books. Each student will choose one of these songs to bring in and coach in class.

About Anthony:





Anthony C. Daniel currently serves as the Casting Director for the Ogunquit Playhouse as well as the Associate Director for the National Tour of CHEERS: Live On Stage. For the Playhouse, Anthony has cast shows such as Anything Goes, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Priscilla: Queen of the Desert, Beauty and the Beast, Sister Act, Victor/Victoria, Nice Work If You Can Get It, Million Dollar Quartet, Saturday Night Fever, Grease, Billy Elliot, Mary Poppins, Witches of Eastwick, Buddy: The Buddy Holly Story, and Addams Family. Anthony directed the Mac-Hayden Theatre’s production of Sister Act, which was a Berkshire Theatre Award Nominee for Outstanding Musical Production. He has served as Associate Director alongside Shaun Kerrison on productions of Mary Poppins (featuring Tony Nominee Christiane Noll) and Witches of Eastwick. Last year Anthony began working as the Associate Director to Matt Lenz (of Broadway’s Hairspray, Catch Me If You Can, Beauty and the Beast) on an all-new production of Victor/Victoria starring Broadway’s Lisa Brescia. He has taught Master Classes and Workshops around the country and is currently on staff at NYC’s The Growing Studio. As a performer, Anthony has been seen in several tours including Mary Poppins (1st National), High School Musical (1st National), Fiddler on the Roof (40th Anniversary), Grease (Int’l), as well as performing at regional theaters such as St. Louis MUNY, Riverside Theatre, North Shore Music Theatre, Atlanta TOTS, and many more. Anthony’s students have gone on to book jobs in Broadway and National Tours including A Bronx Tale, Aladdin, Book of Mormon, CATS, The Color Purple, Jersey Boys, Cinderella, Mamma Mia!, as well as regional theaters such as Papermill Playhouse, Goodspeed Opera House, The Muny, Sacramento Music Circus, and more.
