Stage Manager - The Syndicate

Ellenor Riley-Condit and Leigh Hendrix of The Syndicate are seeking two collaborators for November performances of Bluets, a solo piece based on the book by Maggie Nelson and first performed in 2018 at IRT Theatre in NYC and to be presented at Read/Write Library in Chicago. At the moment, Bluets is somewhere between a work-in-progress stage and it's final form. We are looking for collaborators with specific interests, but who also like to create on a team. The time commitment is flexible: we would ask you to be at some of the rehearsals in September/October, but the most important dates would be in the first two weeks of November. There is a stipend for each position. Read on for Stage Manager description:



Stage Manager - This person will fill some of the functions of a traditional SM - scheduling, set up, etc. but our hope is that they will also be interested in being an "outside eye" and contribute to how we are finalizing the script and changing the relationship of the audience to this piece. The first version was performed in a proscenium, but now we are adjusting staging to an open floor plan where the audience will be more integrated into the performance space. The piece also uses video projections so we would ask for an SM that has some experience with this tech.
