Production Manager - Avenel Arts Center

The Avenel Arts Center, a new not-for-profit performance space opening in December 2018 in Avenel, NJ is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced individual to serve as Production Manager. The Production Manager will be an integral part of the Full-time staff.



Status: Full-time, year-round position

Start Date: September 4, 2018



Responsibilities Include:



Realizing the vision of the theatre as seen by the Executive & Artistic Director and the vision of each individual production;

Coordinating with incoming artists and acts for all of their production needs;

Ensuring compliance with theatre policies by coordinating schedules, maintaining good working relationships, and keeping all rented facilities and equipment in good working condition;

Managing/Supervising all load-ins, tech rehearsals and load-outs;

Supervising and assisting with hiring part-time and seasonal production staff;

Managing and maintaining production budgets, deadlines, and schedules;

Ensuring compliance with theatre policies by coordinating schedules, maintaining good working relationships, and keeping all rented facilities and equipment in good working condition;

Ensuring safety and policy adherence;



The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of successful production management, a willingness to ensure high-quality work in every aspect of production, communication, and organizational skills, and leadership capabilities. Candidates must have a strong working knowledge of sound board and lighting operations.



Weekend and evening hours are required including attendance at all theatre productions, special events, and/or meetings that may happen outside normal hours.



Qualifications:



The ideal candidate would possess:

Ten years’ experience in production management, technical theatre or stage management

Strong management, interpersonal and planning skills

Familiarity with Theatre and/or Performing Arts required



Salary: Commensurate with experience
