East West Players (EWP) is a nonprofit organization with a mission of producing artistic works and educational programs that foster dialogue exploring Asian Pacific experiences.



POSITION SUMMARY

The primary responsibility of the Arts Education and Professional Enrichment Programs Manager is to manage the educational and professional enrichment programs of the organization which includes the Theatre For Youth Touring show, EWP's in-school Partners in Education and Arts Collaboration (PEAC) program, the Actors Conservatory, overseeing EWP's classes (playwriting and acting), and EWP's internship program. This position also includes budgeting, assessing, evaluating, and writing reports for grant purposes. The Arts Education and Professional Enrichment Programs Manager oversees EWP's volunteer program.

Interpersonal skills must be exceptional with a passion for mentoring. He/She must independently initiate and pursue objectives in an organized and efficient manner, prioritize activities, and maximizes team interaction to complete high quality and timely work.



EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

At least 4-years experience working in arts administration with an emphasis on arts education for youth and professional enrichment for adults. Excellent oral and written communication skills are required, as this position is heavily administrative. Knowledge of teaching artists, booking performances, the Los Angeles school districts and university systems, and arts advocacy is preferred. Applicants must be capable of working in a collaborative team environment and working independently. Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines is necessary. Applicants must be knowledgeable in the areas of budgeting, grant reporting, managing a creative team in developing new work for youth, connecting with industry individuals, networking with school districts and development fundraising to support the education programs.
