The Second City, the world's premier comedy company and school of improvisation, is coming to the Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park with an original show about all things Cincinnati. From flying pigs and 3-Ways to Opening Day and Who Dey, this fun and irreverent celebration of the city formerly known as Porkopolis begins public previews on November 6 and continues through December 23.

Following the two-act revue about Cincinnati, the Tuesday through Friday shows will include a special segment of improvisation that includes a mix of games and scenes based completely on suggestions from the audience.

Beginning as a small cabaret theatre on Chicago's north side in 1959, The Second City has grown to become a comedy empire - building a robust business based on its core improvisational methodologies. Resident theatres in Chicago and Toronto create topical sketch comedy revues that satirize politics, culture and news of the day. Beyond its stages, The Second City created the foremost school of improvisation in the world - training facilities in Chicago, Toronto and Los Angeles currently enroll over 5,000 students; a corporate division works with hundreds of Fortune 500 companies in areas of training, marketing, entertainment and brand services; and The Second City's forays into television and new media include the classic, Emmy-award winning comedy series "SCTV" and the critically acclaimed Second City Network (www.secondcitynetwork.com). They've provided custom comedy revues to skewer such cities as Philadelphia, Miami and Atlanta; and now they're turning their razor-sharp wit on Cincinnati.

Some of The Second City's renowned alumni include Alan Arkin, Harold Ramis, John Belushi, Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Gilda Radner, John Candy, Martin Short, Eugene Levy, Chris Farley, Jane Lynch, Mike Myers, Jack McBrayer, Tina Fey, Stephen Colbert, Jason Sudeikis and Steve Carell.

The cast includes Ryan Archibald, Katie Caussin, Joe Dempsey (Metamorphoses), Sayjal Joshi, Anthony LeBlanc and Andel Sudik.

Greater Cincinnati native Mick Napier will helm the production. Other members of the production team include Musical Director Jonathan Wagner and Lighting Designer Andrew J. Hungerford. The Stage Manager is Donald E. Claxon.
