BWW Reviews: BLUE MAN GROUP Amazes Cincinnati
If you've never had the chance to experience a Blue Man Group show, you have until Sunday, October 28th to do so before the Blue Men pack up their drums, PVC pipes, and marshmallows to head to the next town.
There's no doubt that you won't see another show in Cincinnati's Broadway Across America series quite like this one. Three men, who really are painted blue and also don't talk, put on a 100 minute show (without an intermission) full of energy, wonder, spectacular special effects, and of course great music that will leave you feeling like you've been at a rock concert.
The Blue Man Group infuses a lot of comedy into their routine, which balances out the loud percussion numbers well. There are three rows set up as a "splash zone" with ponchos provided because things get quite messy. Beware of the location of your purse or bag, as you may end up with a glob of marshmallows in your purse as one lucky audience member did on the night I attended.
This multi-sensory experience is hard to describe in words other than "you've got to see it to believe it!" It's almost vaudevillian type of comedy will keep you laughing, the high-energy percussive music will keep you amazed, and the technology on stage will keep you marveled and engaged.
Tickets are available at BroadwayinCincinnati.com, by phone 800.294.1816, or in person at the box office Mercantile Center downtown at 120 East Fourth Street, Monday – Friday, 9:00am - 5:00pm.Reader Reviews
