Williams Street Repertory (WSR), winner of four 2013 BroadwayWorld Chicago Awards, continues its 2014/2015 Season with controversey: Mike Daisey's The Agony and Ecstasy of Steve Jobs. The Agony and the Ecstasy... opens tonight, September 13 at 8:00 pm, and runs for select dates and times through September 20 at Raue Center For The Arts in Crystal Lake, Illinois.

Mike Daisey (dubbed a "mater storyteller" by the New York Times) turns his razor-sharp wit to America's most mysterious technology icon in this hilarious and harrowing tale of pride, beauty, and industrial design. He illuminates how the former CEO of Apple and his obsessions shape our daily lives, while following the trail to China to investigate where millions toil to make iPhones and iPads. Daisey's journey casts a light on our love affair with our devices and the all-too-human cost of creating them.

On this voyage, Daisey leads the audience towards a path of elucidation. And this path down the rabbit hole is due to Daisey's unique blend of gonzo journalism, unscripted performance, and autobiography that lends itself to his "preoccupation with alternative histories, secrets large and small, and the fuzzy line where truth and fiction blur."

The Agony and the Ecstasy of Steve Jobs, performed by WSR's own Ivan Ewert, deals with the morality of a world enrapt in technology- looking still beyond simply the ethical issues surrounding owning iPods and Macbooks, but what it means to be present in a technotopia where our actions are dictated to us by a constant bludgeoning of status updates and inconsequential event reminders.

Tickets start at $35.50 and group pricing is available! Tickets can be purchased online at WWW.WSREP.ORG, WWW.RAUECENTER.ORG or via the Box Office at 815.356.9212 or 26 N. Williams Street in downtown Crystal Lake.

Scheduled Performances: September 13 @ 8p, September 19 @ 8p and September 20 @ 3p
