TUTA Theatre Chicago is pleased to announce a performance extension through May 22nd for the critically acclaimed Chicago premiere of THE EDGE OF OUR BODIES, by Adam Rapp (Red Light Winter, Blackbird, The Hallway Trilogy), directed by Artistic Director Jacqueline Stone (The Silent Language, The Anyway Cabaret), and featuring Carolyn Molloy (The Jewels, The Silent Language).

THE EDGE OF OUR BODIES features Carolyn Molloy (TUTA's The Jewels and The Silent Language) and Sean Ewert (TUTA's The Wedding, The Silent Language, The Anyway Cabaret), under the direction of Artistic Director Jacqueline Stone. Design and technical collaborators include movement direction by Aileen McGroddy; set design by Martin Andrew, lighting design by Keith Parham; costume design by Branimira Ivanova; sound design by Joe Court; and prop design by Leticia Guillard.

THE EDGE OF OUR BODIES began performances at TUTA Theatre Chicago (4670 North Manor Avenue) on Friday, March 18, and has been extended to close on Sunday, May 22. There will be no performances April 21 - May 1. Please note that Sunday performances will move from 3:00pm to 4:00pm starting May 7.

Produced by TUTA Theatre Chicago, THE EDGE OF OUR BODIES is a Chicago premiere play by acclaimed American writer and Pulitzer Prize finalist Adam Rapp. This haunting and deeply moving story follows 16 year old Bernadette, an aspiring young writer as she journeys through New York City and teeters on the verge of adulthood. A unique coming of age story, the play honestly and delicately paints the journey of our teenage years, at times uncertain, always full of yearning, and empowered by devastating and uplifting experiences.

Rapp an accomplished American novelist, playwright, screenwriter, director and musician making his TUTA debut this season. An Illinois native born and raised in Joliet, Rapp brings a comprehensive understanding of the Midwest to all of his writing. The play premiered in 2011 at The Actor's Theatre of Louisville's Humana Festival to great acclaim. TUTA continues its commitment to bringing lesser known plays with challenging structures that have yet to be produced in Chicago.

THE EDGE OF OUR BODIES runs Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays at 7:30 p.m., and Sunday matinees at 3:00 p.m., from March 18 - April 17, and Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays at 7:30 p.m., and Sunday matinees at 4:00 p.m., from May 5 - 22 at the TUTA Theatre, 4670 North Manor Avenue. There will be no performances April 21 - May 1. Please note that Sunday performances will move from 3:00pm to 4:00pm starting May 7. There is a suggested donation of $25 at the door for adults. Seating is extremely limited. Reservations are highly recommended. To reserve spots go online at https://squareup.com/store/tuta-theatre. All reservations must be claimed no later than 15 minutes before a performance or they will be released. There will be no late seating.
