The Revival, Hyde Park's comedy theater, announces its lineup of shows and events playing in April 2017. Inspired by the legacy of the Compass Players, The Revival brings improvisational comedy back to the same corner where it was invented in 1955! Tickets can be purchased by visiting www.the-revival.com. The Revival is located at 1160 E. 55th St. in Hyde Park.

Solo performance by Ada Cheng

In this solo performance, Ada Cheng uses "not quite" to connect three main themes: meanings of home, the fractured nature of Asian American identity, and intersectional identities. Ada intends this show to be an intervention and a challenge to current politics and to connect communities with shared as well as different experiences.

Word Play - a Dave Jeff Joint - is the sound of real hip hop mixed with the hottest new stand ups from across the country and topped with the consciousness of the best spoken word artists on the planet. Queer Variety Show

SPACE is a queer variety show hosted by stand up comedians Carly Ballerini and Shannon Noll. Featuring the best performers in Chicago who happen to be LGBTQIA identified. The performance is rooted in stand up, with featured acts including dance, music, drag, storytelling, and more! Space seeks to create a place for performers and audience alike to celebrate their identity and art. This month, check out Cody Melcher (Stand Up), Melody Kamali (Stand Up), Peter Kim (Stand Up), Erin diamond (Storytelling) and Kimothy (Drag).

Join us for a hilarious evening of comedic performances hosted by the University of Chicago's Off Off Campus and Occam's Razor. Proceeds from the performance directly support Seth Rogan's Hilarity for Charity which inspires change and raises awareness of Alzheimer's disease. Together we can "Kick Alz in the Ballz!"

About The Revival

The Revival is a new comedy venue in Hyde Park dedicated to reflecting the diversity of Chicago's South Side on stage. Inspired by the legacy of the Compass Players, The Revival brings improvisational comedy back to the very spot where it was born on the northeast corner of 55th Street and University Avenue. This 150-seat, cabaret-style theater features a diverse range of programming including sketch comedy, improv, standup, music and more.
